I wish you a beautiful new month from the first day of this month to the last day.—J. K. Rowling
Happy July! A new month means new goals and new excuses to procrastinate! Just kidding. But this is an exciting month for me, as I'm aiming to write as many scenes as I can for Project Green. So far, I have two written—yay me! I'm truly at the infancy stage of this project, so things are thrilling, but I still have lots of ground to cover.
I don't want to lose my momentum for this story. My mission is to work on some form of Project Green every day this month. From scene cards to actual scene writing, even just brainstorming my next beat counts as making progress.
Progress takes time and discipline.—Ronnie Coleman
I'm a slow writer by nature. It typically takes me anywhere from many months to a thousand years to finish a project! However, I've set a deadline for myself to complete the first draft of this story by the end of this year. I know, right? I'm setting the bar extremely high. I'm hoping this self-imposed pressure will kick me into gear. Sharing updates here on Substack has also been incredibly helpful in holding myself accountable. It's a hefty long-term goal, but I'm going to shoot for it!
Are you working on any writing projects this month? I'd love to know and support you on your journey. Share your goals in the comments!
Happy Writing! ✍🏽
Let’s go! Rooting for you!
This month I’m working on the first chapter of a dystopian fiction . On substack I want to try to do 3 chapter stories to keep everyone interested or to keep drafting fresh ideas. Excited to see how they turn out ☺️
You got this! Don't ever feel like any progress is "too small." No such thing! I want to finish one of my short stories for my collection and write another story for my blog and Substack.
